Looking to explore the UK while building your career? The UK–India Young Professionals Scheme Visa gives eligible Indian nationals a chance to live and work in the UK for up to 24 months under a special bilateral agreement between the UK and India.

What Is the Young Professionals Scheme Visa?

This visa is part of a cultural and professional exchange initiative offering 3,000 visas annually to eligible Indian citizens. The visa is granted through a random ballot system, and applicants must meet specific age, education, and financial criteria.

Eligibility Requirements:

To enter the ballot, you must:

• Be an Indian citizen
• Be between 18 to 30 years old
• Have a bachelor’s degree or higher (UK RQF level 6, 7, or 8)
• Have at least £2,530 in savings to support yourself upon arrival
• Have a valid passport and contact details

Entering the Ballot

You’ll need to provide the following information to enter the ballot:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Passport details + scan or photo
• Phone number and email address

Ballot entry is free.
Only one entry per person is allowed per ballot. Duplicate entries will be rejected.

Ballot Timelines – 2025

• Total Visas Available: 3,000
• February Ballot: Most slots available
• July Ballot: Final round with remaining slots

What Happens After the Ballot?

If You’re Selected

• You will receive an email within 2 weeks of the ballot closing.
• You’ll have 90 days to:
  • Apply online
  • Pay the £319 visa fee
  • Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
  • Provide biometric information

If You’re Not Selected

• The decision is final — there is no appeal process.
• You may reapply in future ballots if you continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
