As of 2024, MDAC is mandatory for foreign nationals, including Indian passport holders, entering Malaysia. It is an electronic pre-arrival submission completed before travel.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Passport front page with at least 6 months validity
- Confirmed onward or return flight ticket
- Confirmed hotel booking or stay details
Documents can be uploaded using a mobile phone camera, and the MDAC form can typically be completed within minutes.
Financial Requirement
Malaysia has not published a fixed minimum funds rule for this step, but a practical planning guideline is about USD 50 per day for your stay.
Immigration Checks on Arrival

- Valid return air ticket
If adequate proof is not provided, a traveler may be categorized as Not To Land (NTL).
Passport Submission and Stay Duration
Physical passport submission is not required for MDAC filing; upload a digital copy online. Carry the original passport while traveling and present it with MDAC at arrival.
Indian travelers can stay up to 30 days with MDAC. Overstay is not allowed and extensions are generally not available.

- Malaysia eNTRI (Indian passport holders): typically 24-48 hours
- Malaysia Sticker Visa: usually 5-7 working days
