What Is the Young Professionals Scheme Visa?
This visa is part of a cultural and professional exchange initiative offering 3,000 visas annually to eligible Indian citizens. The visa is granted through a random ballot system, and applicants must meet specific age, education, and financial criteria.
Eligibility Requirements
To enter the ballot, you must:
- Be an Indian citizen
- Be between 18 to 30 years old
- Have a bachelor's degree or higher (UK RQF level 6, 7, or 8)
- Have at least GBP 2,530 in savings to support yourself upon arrival
- Have a valid passport and contact details
Entering the Ballot
You'll need to provide the following information to enter the ballot:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Passport details plus a scan or photo
- Phone number and email address
Ballot entry is free. Only one entry per person is allowed per ballot. Duplicate entries will be rejected.
Ballot Timelines - 2025
- Total visas available: 3,000
- February ballot: most slots available
- July ballot: final round with remaining slots
What Happens After the Ballot?
If You're Selected
You will receive an email within 2 weeks of the ballot closing.
You'll have 90 days to:
- Apply online
- Pay the GBP 319 visa fee
- Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
- Provide biometric information
If You're Not Selected
- The decision is final and there is no appeal process
- You may reapply in future ballots if you continue to meet the eligibility criteria
